my story

Welcome! My name is Wendy Wicks and I founded The Resume Works of Pittsford while getting ready to graduate from Cornell University. I am going to date myself here but the mimeograph-style resumes were less than *pretty good* as Larry David would say, although they smelled rather nice! I am honored that my company was invited to Washington, DC in 1999 to prepare resumes for the outgoing executive leadership team and senior staff members of the Clinton White House and Gore Presidential Campaign. The Resume Works worked one-on-one with these individuals to help them explore future options and to craft resumes that would allow them to successfully move into the next exciting chapter of their lives. One landed as a consultant to the hit TV show, The West Wing.

I have partnered with thousands of individuals in crafting documents that have enabled them to successfully enter the marketplace or progress in their careers. I regularly speak at colleges and universities throughout the country. Following the publication of my biography, Tim Draper: From Eastman Theatre’s Muses to the Founding of Rochester City Ballet, which was published by the University of Rochester Press, I have been retained by private clients to develop memoirs for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I like to think of these as the “Resume Long Forms! Sometimes I am asked to prepare tributes, as well.
